Ingredients

Scale

1 loaf of brioche or challah bread, cut into cubes

1 cup Nutella (or more for extra richness)

5 large eggs

1 ½ cups whole milk

½ cup heavy cream

⅓ cup granulated sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp cinnamon

Pinch of salt

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Fresh strawberries or raspberries for garnish

Melted chocolate for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Cut the bread into cubes and set aside.
  2. Warm the Nutella in the microwave for easier spreading, then drizzle or spread half of it over half of the bread cubes. Top with the remaining bread cubes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread layers, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Gently press down with a spatula to help the bread absorb the liquid.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  7. Once baked, dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with melted chocolate (optional), and garnish with fresh berries.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
