1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

8 oz elbow macaroni or rigatoni, cooked and drained

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10–12 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the meat sauce until well combined.
  6. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer half the pasta mixture, then half the cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Add the remaining pasta, then top with the rest of the cheese.
  8. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired
