1 box of brownie mix (family size, about 18.3 oz)

1 cup Dr. Pepper (not diet)

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix brownie mix and salt in a bowl.
  3. Pour in Dr. Pepper and oil, then stir until smooth.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and vanilla extract if using.
  5. Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool completely before slicing.
