12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess grease if necessary.
