4 tablespoons unsalted butter
8–10 garlic cloves, whole and slightly smashed
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Garlic: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add smashed garlic cloves and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden and fragrant.
- Make the Sauce: Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Stir in heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Combine Everything: Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over it. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
