Ingredients
1 lb ground Italian sausage (or ground beef)
1 small onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
4 cups chicken broth
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes (with juices)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 jar (15 oz) Alfredo sauce
8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups fresh spinach leaves
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown the sausage or ground beef. Drain excess grease.
- Add diced onion and sauté until soft. Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and diced tomatoes. Stir and bring to a boil.
- Add broken lasagna noodles. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until al dente.
- Lower heat. Stir in heavy cream and Alfredo sauce. Heat through.
