- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup milk (plus more if needed)
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup diced green chilies (optional)
- 1 small jalapeño, finely diced (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and cream cheese, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until fully combined.
- Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper, and mix well.
- Slowly add the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts completely and the dip is smooth.
- If using diced green chilies or jalapeños, stir them in at this stage.
- If the dip is too thick, add a bit more milk to reach the desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Serve immediately with chips, crackers, or veggies.
