1 cup (227g) unsalted butter
1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups (340g) dark or semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips
Optional: flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool for 10–15 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually stir dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chunks or chips.
